Nevada Isshinryu Karate Kai

The Nevada Isshinryu Karate Kai is holding its 4th Annual Raffle. We teach traditional martial arts in our school. This means that we teach the students the value of earning what they are taught. This is done in several ways. 1) The tuition that they pay. 2) The work they perform to keep the school clean and in good repair.  3) The work they put in to help raise money to help pay for the things the school needs. Lasts years funds were used to bring my teacher Kyoshi Kristensen in to do a Seminar for the students here. It also helped purchase Isshinryu pins, wristbands, awards, tournament fees, website fees and paid for printing costs. This year we would like to get a heavy bag, a bob (punching dummy), more awards for the students, and continue to pay the operating costs of the school. We will also be using the money to help pay for the upcoming trip that some of the students will participate in, the 2010 Gasshuku (April 23-25). Here are the rules of the raffle:

Rules

  • Grand Prize: Raffling off a Nintendo Wii – a $250 value

  • Only 2000 Tickets will be sold

  • 100% proceeds goes to support the students of the Nevada Isshinryu Karate Kai for equipment, traveling expenses, tournament fees, and tuition scholarships.

  • Tickets are $5.00 each or $8.00 for 2. (1 in 2000 chance to win or 1 in 1000 to win). We only sold 236 tickets last year so your odds could be even better.

  • Drawing will be held December 12, 2009 April 17, 2010 after our Shiai. (We had to move it due to the lack of sales this year.)

  • You don't need to be present to win. We will contact if you win or you can look up the results on this webpage at http://www.nvikk.com/raffle.html.

  • Students who sells the most tickets gets:

    • 1st – 3 Piece Samurai Sword Set - Black with Dragon or kai gift certificate ($90 value)

    • 2nd – Tournament Fees paid for one of the tournaments in 2008 ($50 value)

    • 3rd – Full set of Kumite Gear or Heavy Weight Gi ($45 value)

    • 4th – Tournament Bag ($40 value)

    • 5th – Karate Belt Display Wood Rack - 10 belts ($35 value)

    • 6th+ – $15 off Tournaments in 2009 (must sell at least 15 tickets)

  • Except for the first and second place prize, you can substitute any other prize for another prize of equal or lesser value.
